Plethodon amplus Highton et Peabody, 2000

Grande espèce grise à ventre noir. 15 cm. Semblable aux popu­ lations méridionales de P.metcalfi et à P. meridianus. Petite aire accidentée dans les comtés de Buncombe, Rutherford et Henderson, dans les Blue Ridge de Caroline du Nord (photo p.22). Sympatrique avec P. cylindraceus et P.yonahlossee (population de Bat Cave) sans hybridation. Un grand mâle observé par l’auteur et Jamin sous une écorce par une température basse (5 °C environ). 412 km2. VU.
