Description
Size of male: 26-39 mm, female: 33-44 mm

Colour of dorsum is brown with dark brown or rounded patches, with or without a bright chstnut to pale yellow mid-vertebral band.Ventrally pale yellow. Throat. Breast and under side of thigh ans tibia with dark speckles in some specimens.

Terra typica: Moray Estate, Rajamally, near Mousakelle, Sri Lanka. Endemic for Sri Lanka. A montane species, having been recorded between altitudes of 150-1580 m asl. In hills of western, central ans eastern Sri Lanka. Found in margins of shaded, shallow, slow-flowing streams in sympatry with Rana temporalis, Nannophrys ceylonensis and Lankanectes corrugatus. I found F. kirtisinghei in sympatry with F. limnocharis.

Life History, Abundance, Activity, and Special Behaviors
This frog is active during daytime and can be found in leaf litter near streams inside forest.

Possible reasons for amphibian decline

Habitat modification from deforestation, or logging related activities
Habitat fragmentation

Comments
This species was formerly included in F. greenii sensu lato, and the former syntype series of F. greenii can include some specimens referable to F. kirtisinghei.
