Description A medium-sized, probably arboreal microhylid. Only the holotype (38 mm) is known. Colour in life unknown. In preservative, the back is uniformly brownish coloured, lighter on the venter. Skin on the back smooth. Nostrils slightly nearer to tip of snout than to eye. Tympanum rather indistinct, about 1/3 of eye diameter. Tibiotarsal articulation reaches the insertion of the arm. Toe 5 as long as toe 3. Hands without webbing; feet with a trace of webbing. [97]
Similar species: Other Platypelis and Cophyla species have longer hindlimbs. Anodonthyla can be distinguished by the characteristic shape of the male's prepollex.
