Northeastern Madgascar, at Marojejy (Glaw and Vences 2007). Found at 1,250 m asl (Glaw and Vences 2008). This species was found in bushes in an artificial clearing which was surrounded by montane forest (Glaw and Vences 2008).

Life History, Abundance, Activity, and Special Behaviors
Habits: Specimens call at dusk and night from perches in dense vegetation, 1-1.5 m above the ground, usually not in close vicinity of open water (Glaw and Vences 2007). May be a direct developer since it does not live near water (Glaw and Vences 2008).

Calls: A very slow series of relatively long unharmonious and clearly pulsed notes (Glaw and Vences 2007).

Trends and Threats
This species is listed as vulnerable because it is known from only a single protected location: the Parc National de Marojejy (Glaw and Vences 2008).
