Habitat and Ecology
This is a terrestrial species described from relatively open tropical moist forest. It may occur under rocks close to hill streams, but there is no further information known about its habitat and ecology.
It is known only from the holotype, as it has not been found again despite surveys within its range, so its population status is unknown.
The threats to this species are not known.
It is unclear as to whether or not the type specimen was collected within Silent Valley National Park.
Red List Status
Data Deficient (DD)
This taxon is probably a junior synonym of Bufo parientalis (Dubois and Ohler 1999; Biju in prep.). It is thought that the type specimen of B. silentvalleyensis might refer to a subadult of B. parietalis, and that this taxon is therefore invalid.
