Distribution and Habitat

Found in a small area called Bowling Green Bay National Park on Mt Elliott, south-east of Townsville in northern Queensland. Extent of occurrence is approximately 300km2.

Life History, Abundance, Activity, and Special Behaviors
Seen on palm fronds in the rainforest between 900m – 1000m asl.

Trends and Threats
Small extent of occurrence and populations threatened by habitat degradation through wildfire.

Threats
Occurs in National Parks in the Wet Tropics. Threats are mainly from human impacts on the parks, for example: erosion following human traffic, increased visitation, habitat degradation and development of walking tracks and other tourist facilities. Increased occurrences of wildfire are also a threat.

Conservation Measures
All populations occur within the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area. Plans for wildfire management and cool controlled burning have been developed.
