Etymology: Quasipaa taoi is named after Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tao Thien Nguyen of the Institute of Genome Research, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, a dear friend and peer of C. T. Pham, C. V. Hoang, T. Q. Phan, T. Q. Nguyen, and T. Ziegler. Dr. Nguyen made myriad contributions to the study of the amphibians of Vietnam (Pham et al. 2022).
