Etymology: The genus name ”Centrolene” originates from the Greek nouns “kéntron”, which means “spur-” and “ōlénē", which means “elbow” (Barrio-Amorós et al. 2019). The specific name "kutuku" is derived from the Shaur language and is in reference to the Subandean Cordillera of Kutukú Cordilera, where the species was first collected for science (Ron et al. 2024). |
