Description H. laurenti seems to vicariate for the western H. chlorosteus, and a specimen collected in Lakota, Côte d’Ivoire, seems to show some transition in pattern. The gular flap and voice are so different however that they should be regarded as separate species. The tadpole has a very long tail (200–250% of body length) and a tooth formula of 1/1+1,2. Distribution and Habitat Country distribution from AmphibiaWeb's database: Cote d'Ivoire, Ghana
