Description
A small broad and flat bushland Hyperolius (males 15–20 mm, females 22–26 mm) from Cameroun possibly as far east as Uganda. Dorsum grey with darker hourglass pattern or, rarely, with light dorsolateral stripes. Gular flap very variable in size. Ventrum yellowish white. Pupil horizontal.

This Cameronese species is probably identical to what is called H. platyceps langi from Uganda (Schiøtz 1975), while H. langi from eastern R. D. Congo may be a composite, including H. kuligae.

This species is also very similar to the more western Hyperolius sylvaticus. It differs in being smaller and having a much more variable gular flap. Furthermore the voice is different.
