Description
A medium sized spotted Kassina (29-38 mm) from the humid savanna of northern central Africa. The majority of the dorsal spots are sub-circular or elliptical and not arranged in rows. Transversal dark bands on limbs. Dorsal ground colour very variable from almost black to silverish grey with dark, light-edged spots.

Known from humid savanna, from western Cameroun till north-eastern R. D. Congo.

Life History, Abundance, Activity, and Special Behaviors
The males may call from vegetation at low elevations but also sometimes from floating vegetation in water. The sonogram shows rather brief calls with a higher frequency and a purer tonal quality than the voice of K. cochranae.

The tadpole is typical of the genus with a high tail fin up to 150% of the body length, and a length of up to 80 mm (22+58). The tooth formula is 1/1+1,1.
