This recently described species is known only from the vicinity of the type locality, Krishna Farms, Gurpur, near Mangalore, in Karnataka State, India. It is known only from altitudes below 100m asl.
Habitat and Ecology
It is a subterranean species in loose, humus-rich soil, that is known only from anthropogenic habitats, and its original habitat is unknown. It is assumed to be oviparous with terrestrial eggs that develop directly, and to not be dependent on water for breeding.
The population status of this species is unknown.
The threats to this species are not known at present.
It is in need of taxonomic review (Wilkinson pers. comm.).
