Coast and adjacent ares of northern and eastern Australia. From the Kimberley region of Western Australia along the coastline to mid-eastern New South Wales. The extent of occurrence of the species is approximately 953300 km2

Life History, Abundance, Activity, and Special Behaviors
Open forests and around the forested edges of permanent swamps. Forages among the leaf litter of the forest floor and on the open flats exposed by receding waters. Breeding takes place in spring and summer when the wet season creates temporary soaks and waterholes. Eggs are laid in clumps of 50 to 100 in static water. Tadpoles take between 1 � 5 months to develop depending on the time the eggs were laid.

Trends and Threats
No known declines and extent of occurrence > 20,000km2.

Threats
Human settlement along the east coast especially.
