Description Although males of H. schoutedeni and H. cinnamomeoventris are very similar, there are differences: H. schoutedeni is generally larger, and the dorsal surface of the tibia in cinnamomeoventris is normally uniform or with small dark spots while in schoutedeni it has longitudinal stripes. H. schoutedeni often has a large round red spot on the dorsal surface of the foot. The tadpoles are brown with numerous thin dark stripes on the sides of the body. Tooth formula 1/3.
