Description
A massive Hyperolius (males 29–32 mm, females 40 mm) from central R. D. Congo with a well-developed gular flap. Dorsum dark brown with a darker interorbital triangle, a medio-dorsal square spot, a transverse lumbar band and a dark lateral region. Pupil horizontal.

Similar to H. platyceps but apparently the only species from R. D. Congo with such large females, according to Laurent.
