Range Description
This species is known only from two localities in Papua New Guinea: the type locality (Arau), and the northern side of the Huon Peninsula. Its altitudinal range is 1,100-1,400m asl.
Habitat and Ecology
It lives in zones transitional between mid-montane and lower-montane forest, where it calls from exposed positions on the forest floor. It has been found only in mature forest.

It is reasonably common where it has been found.
