From the IUCN Red List Species Account:   Range Description This species is known only from two localities in Papua New Guinea: the type locality (Arau), and the northern side of the Huon Peninsula. Its altitudinal range is 1,100-1,400m asl. Habitat and Ecology It lives in zones transitional between mid-montane and lower-montane forest, where it calls from exposed positions on the forest floor. It has been found only in mature forest. Population It is reasonably common where it has been found. Population Trend Unknown Major Threats No information is available. Conservation Actions The distribution, habitat requirements and population status of this species need to be documented. It is not known from any protected areas.
