Range Description
This species is known only from the type locality, Moroka, at 700m asl, in Papua New Guinea. Animals that fit the description of this species, but which are not yet confirmed as being of this species, are widespread in south-eastern Papua New Guinea.
Habitat and Ecology
It is presumably a forest inhabitant that breeds by direct development.
Population
t is known only from the type series, described in 1898.

As there have been no confirmed records of this species for over 100 years, there is an urgent need to determine its current status, and the correct identities of the animals (which fit its description) that are widespread in south-eastern Papua New Guinea.
