A member of the ocellata group with the following combination fo characters: 1) vomerine dentition absent, 2) bones green in life, 3) parietal peritoneum (the anterior 1/2) is white, 4) color in life is pale green with dark green to blue spots and fine cream flecks, 5) snout somewhat blunt when viewed dorsally, truncate when viewed laterally, 6) dorsal skin is fineley granular with many small tubercles, 7) lacks ulnar and tarsal folds, 8) humeral spine absent. Adults medium sized; females reach 25.9-28.4mm SVL and males reach 25.1-27.7mm SVL. Head slightly wider than body; head wider than long; head width is 31.9-39.5% SVL. Distance between nostril and anterior part of eye is 47.1-80.0% diameter of eye. Diameter of eye is 31.5-44.3% length of head. Tibial length is 54.0-61.4% SVL. When hind limb adpressed anteriorly, ankle reaches anterior portion of eye.

Known from the eastern side of the Cordillera Central of Colombia in the departments of Cauca, counties of Belalcazar and Inzá, Huila, San José de Isnas and Tolima. Found at elevations between 1900 and 2700m. Type locality at the departamento of Cauca, county of Inzá, Km. 64-73 carretera Popayán to Inzá, eastern slope of the Cordillera Central, 2° 34´ latitude N, 76° 4´ W of Greenwich, 2590-2660 m
Life History, Abundance, Activity, and Special Behaviors
Adults were found on vegetation and rocks bordering a break in the forest, the female contained eggs (the embryo was brown and yolk was cream colored)
