Habitat and Ecology

It is known only from one specimen collected over 20 years ago. Repeated visits failed to find other individuals. However, no species of this species group is ever common (except for Eleutherodactylus cerastes).
Agricultural development, and the cultivation of illegal crops, are threats to its habitat.
Its known distribution is not within a protected area. However, it is near Parque Nacional de Las Orquídeas, and further sampling in the park might find it here.
