Range Description
This species is known only from the region of the type locality, Alto Río Cuevas, near Murri, in the municipality of Frontino, in Antioquia Department, on the western flank of the Cordillera Occidental in Colombia, at 1,900m asl.
Habitat and Ecology
This species occurs in leaf-litter in cloud forests, and breeds by direct development.
Population
It is known only from one specimen collected over 20 years ago. Repeated visits failed to find other individuals. However, no species of this species group is ever common (except for Eleutherodactylus cerastes).

Major Threats
Agricultural development, and the cultivation of illegal crops, are threats to its habitat.
Conservation Actions
Its known distribution is not within a protected area. However, it is near Parque Nacional de Las Orquídeas, and further sampling in the park might find it here.
