Range Description

This species is known from its type locality: "Quilimane, Mozambique". It is unknown whether this refers to the site where it was sampled or whether it is the name of the maritime port to which it was brought; Pfeffer (1893) also noted this uncertainty in the original description of the species.

Habitat and Ecology

There is no information about the habitat preferences, natural history or reproductive strategy of this species.

Population

It is only known from four specimens.

Population Trend

unknown

Major Threats

There is no information on threats to this species because of uncertainty as to its type locality and habitat preferences.

Conservation Actions

Research Needed
Further work is required on the taxonomy, population size and distribution, life history and ecology, and threats.

Red List Status

Data Deficient (DD)

Rationale

Listed as Data Deficient because there is still very little known about where it actually occurs, its extent of occurrence, area of occupancy, status and ecological requirements.
