Range Description

This species is only known from the type locality: Cordillera de Vilcabamba, CI/RAP Expedition Camp One, at 3,350 m asl, Province of Satipo, Junín Region, Peru (Lehr 2007).

Habitat and Ecology

Vegetation at the type locality consists of pajonales, mixed-species forest, and Polylepis forest. Nothing is known about this species' ecology, however reproduction is presumed to occur by direct development, as with other congeners.

Population

The species is only known from the type series, comprised of four specimens. There have been no further surveys to look for the species (E. Lehr pers. comm. December 2017).

No major threats are known for this species, as it is only known from a nationally protected area.

The species is found within Parque Nacional Otishi, which is difficult to access (E. Lehr pers. comm. 2008, 2017).
