This species is known only from the type locality, at Guabang Shan Tree Farm in Qiyang County, Hunan Province, China, where it has been found from 400-720m asl.
Habitat and Ecology
It is known from forest, and wetlands such as bogs, marshes, permanent pools and paddy lands. Eggs are laid in winter in standing ponds, bogs and rice fields. This species is presumed to breed by larval development.
There is no information available on the population status of this species.
The main threat to it is habitat loss and degradation arising from smallholder farming.
This species is not known from any protected areas.
