Range Description

This species is known from four localities in norther Peru: Laguna de Los Condores and the east slope of Abra Pardo de Miguel in the northern Cordillera Central, as well as, two sites along the Río Comianas on the eastern slopes of the Cordillera del Cóndor in the Regions of Amazonas and San Martín. It occurs at elevations from 1,138–2,870 m asl. The elevational range of this species suggests that it might range more widely, especially in between known sites. Its estimated extent of occurrence (EOO) is 15,619 km2 and all individuals are considered to occur at three threat-defined locations.

Habitat and Ecology

This species inhabits humid montane forest species. All individuals were collected on low vegetation up to 1 m from the ground at night. It not known to occur in degraded areas. It is presumed to breed by direct development.

Its population status is not well understood. Due to ongoing localised declines in the extent and quality of habitat, some subpopulations are suspected to be decreasing.

Listed as Vulnerable, as this species has an extent of occurrence (EOO) is 15,619 km2, all individuals are considered to occur at three threat-defined locations, and it is likely to occur in between known sites where there is continuing decline in the quality of its habitat due to the expanding agricultural frontier in the northern Peruvian Andes.
