Hyperolius sheldricki is known from only two localities in southeastern Kenya: one in Tsavo East National Park and one near Kakoneni (Duff-MacKay and Schiøtz 1971). This species is found in the dry savanna (Schiøtz 1999) and may be very specialized for arid habitats.

Comments
Member of the Hyperolius viridiflavus superspecies and treated under that name (see H. viridiflavus account for description). Sometimes regarded as a separate species.
