Mountain ranges and associated rivers and streams of central Australia. South-central Northern Territory (Mc Donnell Ranges) and north-central South Australia. The extent of occurrence of the species is approximately 7600 km2

Life History, Abundance, Activity, and Special Behaviors
Confined to rock gorges where there are permanent streams and waterholes or temporary water. Hide in cool spaces beneath boulders during the day. Breeding biology largely unknown.

Trends and Threats
No known declines and no known threats despite small extent of occurrence (<20,000km2).
