Description
A small Hyperolius (males 16-19 mm, females 23-26 mm) from the dense forest in the Eastern Arc Mountains, Tanzania. Dorsum with broad transverse bars or an hour-glass pattern in dark and light grey. Dorsum coarsely granulated in males, smooth in females. Gular flap in males flat and smooth with very little dilatable skin. Pupil horizontal.

Collected in swamps in dense evergreen forest in the Udzungwas, Tanzania.

Life History, Abundance, Activity, and Special Behaviors
No call was heard from this species, in spite of careful listening on a locality with breeding activity.
