This species is known only from two localities in the states of Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul, in south-central Brazil, and has been found at around 300m asl.
Habitat and Ecology
It is a species found in Cerrado savannah and the Pantanal wetlands, living in savannah, shrubland and grassland. There is no information on its breeding habits, but it probably reproduces explosively in temporary pools.
There is no information on the population status of this species.
There is little direct information on threats to this species, but it is likely to be impacted by the spread of intensive agriculture (in particular cattle ranching and soybean cultivation), as well as fires and the impacts of dams.
It probably occurs in at least one protected area (Parque Nacional do Pantanal Matogrossense).

Listed as Data Deficient since it has only recently been described, and there is still very little information on its extent of occurrence, status and ecological requirements.
