This species is known only from the type locality of Banshan, in Puer County, Yunnan Province, China, where it occurs between 1,990 and 2,000m asl.
Habitat and Ecology
It lives in meadows in montane forest. The eggs are laid in foam nests in grasses, presumably close to stagnant waterbodies in which the larvae develop.
There is nothing known.
The threats to this species are not known, although there is clear-cutting of forest and agrochemical pollution occurring within the general area.
This species probably occurs in Songshan Nature Reserve, although this requires confirmation.

Listed as Data Deficient in view of continuing uncertainties as to its taxonomic validity, extent of occurrence and ecological requirements.
This form might be conspecific with Rhacophorus dugritei (Orlov et al. 2001).
