Range Description

This species is known from south-western Sichuan, north-eastern Yunnan and western Guizhou provinces in south-western China. It occurs from 1,700-2,950m asl.

Habitat and Ecology

It inhabits hill streams and the surrounding riparian habitats. Breeding takes place in small streams.

Population

It is an uncommon species.

Agricultural development and water pollution are the major threats to this species.

Conservation Actions

Its range includes two small provincial protected areas, Fangshan and Luojishan, and Panzhihuasutie National Nature Reserves.

Rationale

Listed as Vulnerable because its Area of Occupancy is less than 2,000km2, it is known from fewer than ten locations, and there is continuing decline in the extent and quality of its habitat in Sichuan and Yunnan, China.
