This species is known only from Qiliba, in Zhaojue County, western Sichuan Province, China, at around 3,000m asl.
Habitat and Ecology
It is found in hilly areas where it inhabits streams, in which it breeds, and the surrounding habitats.
It is not an uncommon species.
There is no information on threats to this species.
Taxonomic research is needed to determine the validity of this species.

Listed as Data Deficient in view of continuing uncertainties as to its taxonomic status, extent of occurrence and ecological requirements.
Some experts consider this species to be invalid (Fei Liang pers. comm.), stating that no specimen exists anymore. However, this opinion is not universally agreed.
