This species is known only from Htingnam in upper Myanmar (Smith 1940).
Habitat and Ecology
The habitat requirements of this species are not known. It presumably breeds in water by larval development, like most other members of its genus.
There are no data available regarding its population status, beyond the observation that Kaulback collected 13 specimens (Smith 1940). This species has not been recorded since it was first collected in 1937-39, and results from recent surveys of the type locality are not yet available (Wogan pers. comm.).
Threats to this species are unknown.
Its type locality is within Hkakabo Razi National Park. It would be worthwhile to assess this species' taxonomic relationship with Rhacophorus verrucopus.
Red List Status
Data Deficient (DD)
Listed as Data Deficient in view of the absence of recent information on its extent of occurrence, status and ecological requirements.
The taxonomic relationship of this species with Rhacophorus verrucopus, known only from nearby Medog, Xizang Autonomous Region, China, is not clear.
