This species is known only from the holotype and one paratype, and is said to come from Java, Indonesia. However, examination of the holotype has cast doubt as to the likelihood of it having an Asian origin (Iskandar pers. comm.).
Habitat and Ecology
The habitat requirements of this species are not known. It is likely to breed in water by larval development, like other members of the genus.
It is known only from the holotype and one paratype.
Threats to this species are unknown.
Its taxonomic validity and locality of origin need to be determined.

This taxon is a nomen dubium and is incertae sedis, and should probably be placed within the family Ranidae.
