Pseudophilautus eximius was endemic to Sri Lanka and could be found at elevations of 1,500m (Stuart et al 2008).

Life History, Abundance, Activity, and Special Behaviors
This species was last seen in 1933 and is now believed to be extinct (Stuart et al 2008).

Trends and Threats
There is no exact explanation for the extinction of this species, but the most probable cause is believed to be habitat loss (Stuart et al 2008).
