In the central arid zone of Western Australia, near Gascoyne, Ashburton and Pilbara regions. The extent of occurrence of the species is approximately 216200 km2

Life History, Abundance, Activity, and Special Behaviors
Often in or near grassland. Found around permanent pools in creeks and riverbeds and also around flooded claypans and roadside drainage channels. After rain it may be found well away from water sources. Hides under rocks and logs often half-buried in damp gritty soil. Breeds in summer. Breeding biology and tadpoles unknown.

Trends and Threats
No known declines and extent of occurrence over 20,000km2.
