Northern Australia. Known from the eastern Kimberley's of Western Australia and into the western escarpment of Arnhem Land in the Northern Territory. The extent of occurrence is approximately .

Life History, Abundance, Activity, and Special Behaviors
Associated with rocky habitats – sandstone hills and gorges, rocky screes and ledges, boulder fields, caves and open escarpments. Usually near perennial and non-perennial streams. Shelters deep in caves. Breeds in spring and summer. Males call from beneath boulders in or near the stream bed.. About 350 – 400 eggs are laid in a foam nest in rock pools or beneath rocks at the edge of water-draining scree slopes. Tadpoles develop in ponds in about 9 weeks.

Trends and Threats
No known declines and extent of occurrence > 20,000km2.
