From the IUCN Red List Species Account:

Range Description

This high-altitude species is known only from Parque Nacional do CaparaĆ³, in the state of Minas Gerais in south-eastern Brazil, where it occurs at around 2,300m asl. It might occur more widely.

Habitat and Ecology

It is associated with streams, in which it presumably breeds, in open high-altitude grassland.

Population

Only a few specimens are known. The lack of subsequent records appears to be related to a lack of surveys, and there is insufficient information to know whether or not this species is common or rare.

Population Trend

unknown

Major Threats

The main threat to this species is probably habitat loss due to fire and the effects of tourism.

Conservation Actions

Parque Nacional do CaparaĆ³ is the only protected area from which it is currently known.

Red List Status

Data Deficient (DD)

Rationale

Listed as Data Deficient in view of continuing uncertainties as to its extent of occurrence, status and ecological requirements.
