Range Description

This species occurs in plateau areas of southeastern Brazil to southeastern Goiás state. It has been recorded above 600m asl.

Habitat and Ecology

It occurs in open areas or forest edges on low vegetation or above the ground, where it also breeds. It adapts well to anthropogenic disturbance and breeds by direct development.


It is a common species.

Major Threats

Agriculture, both crops and livestock, as well as fires, and agricultural pollution are major threats to the species’ habitat.

Its range includes several protected areas.

Listed as Least Concern in view of its wide distribution, tolerance of a broad range of habitats, presumed large population, and because it is unlikely to be declining to qualify for listing in a more threatened category.
