Range Description

This species is known only from Mimoso do Sul, in the state of Espírito Santo, south-eastern Brazil, at 70m asl. With survey work, it probably will be shown to occur more widely.

Habitat and Ecology

It lives in the leaf-litter of primary and secondary forest, and does not occur in degraded habitats. It breeds by direct development.


It is reasonably common at the only known locality.

Major Threats

The major threat is habitat loss due to agriculture (crops and livestock grazing), logging, and human settlement.

Conservation Actions

It is not known from any protected areas. There is a need for improved habitat protection in the Miomoso do Sul.

Red List Status

Vulnerable (VU)


Listed as Vulnerable because its Extent of Occurrence is less than 20,000 km2, all individuals are in fewer than five locations, and there is continuing decline in the extent and quality of its habitat in southern Espírito Santo.
