Range Description

This species is only recorded from Liupanshan, in Jinyuan County, Ningxia Huizu Zizhiqu Autonomous Region, China, from 1,900-2,500m asl.

Habitat and Ecology

It inhabits forest where it breeds in small- to medium-sized, spring-fed streams.


It is common within its small range.

Population Trend


Major Threats

Its habitat is within a protected area so it is not presently threatened by habitat destruction or degradation. Nonetheless, its restricted range renders it vulnerable to stochastic threatening processes.

Conservation Actions

Much of the range of this species lies within the Liupanshan National Nature Reserve. There is a need for close population monitoring of this species given its very limited range.
