This species is known only from the type locality, Angguruk, in Papua, Indonesia, at 1,400m asl.

Its population status is unknown. It has only been collected once, in 1979.
The possible threats to this species are not known, although the area in which it was collected is quite disturbed and has been so for quite some time.
