This species occurs in northwestern Zimbabwe, northern Botswana, northern Namibia, and adjoining southern Angola. It is likely to be found in southwestern Zambia.
Habitat and Ecology
It is a species of sandy areas, where it is associated with ephemeral pools and pans in short grassland. It presumably breeds in temporary pools.
Little information is available, but it is likely to be common in suitable habitat.
It occurs in a habitat that is not significantly threatened, so this species unlikely to be at risk.
It is known from Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe, and presumably occurs in many other protected areas.

Listed as Least Concern in view of its relatively wide distribution and its presumed large population.
