This species is known only from the type locality, Aitape, in northern coastal Papua New Guinea.
Habitat and Ecology
Its habitat and ecological requirements are unknown, but it possibly lives in rainforest, or possibly grassland. There is no information known regarding its breeding habits, though reproduction is presumed to be by larval development in water.
It has not been recorded again since it was first discovered, and it is considered to be a rare species.
Insufficient data are available to determine what its major threats are.
The distribution, habitat requirements and abundance of this species need to be researched. Its known locality is not within a protected area.
