Range Description

This species from eastern Brazil has been recorded from Itabuna and Ilhéus in the state of Bahia, and from Linhares in the state of Espirito Santo. It presumably occurs in intervening areas between these sites, although the limits of its distribution are still very poorly known. It occurs up to 50m asl.

Habitat and Ecology

This species lives in or near ponds on the forest edge, always staying close to water, and is sometimes found on vegetation near water. The eggs are laid on leaves above temporary or permanent ponds, into which the larvae fall and develop.

There is very little information on its population status as there have been very few records.
