Range Description

This species is known from Paucartambo de Pasco Valley in Pasco Department, in the Cordillera Oriental of central Peru, between 2,600–3,000 m asl. The limits of its distributional range are unknown, but it could occur elsewhere.

Habitat and Ecology

This species is known from cloud forests, and it is presumed to have a larval development breeding strategy.

It was described from approximately 20 specimens collected between 2000 and 2004, and the last known surveys were in 2004, when one individual was recorded (Lehr et al. 2005). No information is currently available on its population status or population trend, and there have been no recent surveys to look for it (E. Lehr pers. comm. April 2017). However, due to ongoing decline in the extent and quality of habitat, the population is suspected to be decreasing.

Population Trend

Major Threats
