Listed as Data Deficient since its taxonomic status has only recently been assessed, and there is still very little information on its extent of occurrence, status and ecological requirements.

Taxonomic Notes

Nascimento et al. (2006) proposed that Eupemphix fuscomaculatus be considered as Pleurodema fuscomaculata. Specimens previously assigned to Physalaemus fuscomaculatus are now considered to be Physalaemus marmoratus.
