Plethodon meridianus Highton et Peabody, 2000

18 cm. La plus grande forme du complexe. Grise à ventre noir. Teinte jaune dans l’iris de près de la moitié des spécimens. Une seule population sur une petite aire dans les South Mountains (comtés de Burke, Cleveland et Rutherford), sommet isolé du Piémont de Caroline du Nord. Sympatrique avec P. cylindraceus sans hybridation. 885 km2. VU.
