Range Description

Phyllomedusa nordestina is distributed over northeastern Brazil, in the caatinga and adjacent regions, in the states of
Piauí, Ceará, Rio Grande do Norte, Paraíba, Pernambuco, Alagoas, Sergipe, Bahia and Minas Gerais (Caramaschi, 2006).

Habitat and Ecology

The species is found in the ecoregion of Caatinga (dry shrubland).

Taxonomic Notes

In the Phyllomedusa hypochondrialis group according to the original publication. Phyllomedusa nordestina can be distinguished from other similar species by a combination of colour patterns and morphological features (Caramaschi, 2006).
