This species is known only from the type locality, Mauda (Uele), in north-eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. When mapping its range this can only be done approximately, owing to a lack of specificity regarding the type locality.

Habitat and Ecology

This species' habitat and ecological preferences are not known, although they are presumably similar to other members of the genus, and it likewise probably also breeds in water by larval development.

The population status of this species is unknown. There are no recent records, presumably due to a lack of herpetological work within its range.
