Description
A rather large Leptopelis (males 37-48 mm, females 60-81 mm) from the forests of central Africa. Dorsum green or brown. Brown specimens have a dark bar between the eyes and a dorsal triangle with apex pointing forward. Rarely, dorsal spots instead. Conspicuous white spot below eye. Canthus rostralis angular. The green phase is uncommon.

South-eastern Nigeria to Cameroun, Gabon, R. Congo and western R. D. Congo.

Life History, Abundance, Activity, and Special Behaviors
The males call from branches or lianas in dense forest, up to 5-6 m above the ground but normally lower. The voice is a small series (2-4) of identical, rather atonal clacks, rather quiet. Several calls heard and recorded in a terrarium started with a series of very quiet clacks. This quiet part of the call has not been heard in the field. There is a very ill-defined frequency-intensity maximum at 2000-2500 cps.
