Description
Females have a snout-vent length of 26.2 to 28.9 mm, and males have a snout-vent length of 21.3 to 25.8 mm. Adults have a dark brown or black ventrum, obscured by dense, irregular white spots which are often partially fused together. Often, the dorsum has dark lines outlining an irregular inverted V which widens at eye level, at the mid-body, and at the groin, and narrows between these areas. G. elegans has a dark brown lateral band which passes from the tip of the snout through the eye and above the shoulder to the groin and the anterior face of the thigh. Above this band is a dark brown inguinal spot. Two dark lines cross the lower leg, and often there are traces of lines on the thigh and foot which align with those of the lower leg in the sitting position. The hind foot has a single metatarsal tubercle, rudimentary webs roughly extending to the proximal joint of the fourth toe, and dorsoventrally flattened tips of the outer toes, which dilate slightly laterally.
